DSK School marked a significant milestone in its journey of nurturing future leaders by hosting the third edition of its prestigious Model United Nations – DSK MUN 2025. The event brought together some of the brightest and most passionate student delegates from across Maharashtra, offering them a unique platform to engage with complex global issues and hone their diplomatic skills. The conference
was graced by Hon. Shri. Avinash Dharmadhikari, a former IAS officer and a revered mentor for young leaders, who inspired the participants to approach leadership with courage, integrity, and compassion.

Held from 12th to 14th July 2025, the three-day conference was an immersive experience where students simulated high-level negotiations on real-world challenges, ranging from climate security and refugee rights to digital privacy and orbital debris regulation. Through structured debates, collaborative drafting sessions, and strategic discussions, delegates learned to articulate their perspectives, build consensus, and think critically under pressure. The event’s inclusive format ensured that every voice was heard, irrespective of background or experience, fostering an environment of mutual respect and open dialogue.

A particularly inspiring feature of this year’s conference was the introduction of a Maharashtra Legislative Assembly committee, which aimed to include underprivileged students, providing them with equal opportunities to contribute to meaningful discussions. This initiative reflected the school’s ethos of empathy, equity, and outreach, making leadership accessible to all.

The event began with an opening ceremony that set the tone for the days ahead. Students showcased their preparedness through an impressive march past led by Scouts and Guides, followed by an oath-taking ceremony administered by the student Sports Ministers. The conference was officially inaugurated with a ceremonial lamp-lighting by the chief guest, after which students from various grades presented cultural performances that celebrated unity, strength, and resilience.

Throughout the event, students demonstrated not only intellectual curiosity but also remarkable empathy and teamwork. Sessions such as keynote addresses, moderated discussions, and committee workshops helped sharpen their negotiation skills while promoting ethical reasoning and civic responsibility.

The presence of Shri. Dharmadhikari added immense value, as he encouraged students to view leadership as a responsibility grounded in empathy and informed action, stating, “It is your wellresearched and compassionate voices that will shape the policies and societies of tomorrow. ” The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and awards, celebrating the delegates’ commitment, leadership, and passion for change.

DSK MUN 2025 was not just a conference—it was a transformative journey that empowered students to become thoughtful, principled, and proactive leaders, ready to face the challenges of a complex and interconnected world.

With each edition, DSK MUN continues to expand the horizons of student learning, turning young dreamers into changemakers, and classrooms into arenas for leadership, creativity, and global citizenship. This event stands as a testament to the school’s vision—where education transcends textbooks and fosters values that prepare students to lead with purpose and integrity.

As an Alumnus of DSK School, I have fond memories of my time spent in this school. I remember the warmth and kindness of the teachers who ensured that every student was given an opportunity to succeed. Their guidance and support not only helped me to excel academically but also instilled in the values of discipline, hard work and perseverance.

As I reflect on my time at DSK School, I realise that it was much more than a place of learning. It was home away from home a place where I felt safe and supported. The memories I made at DSK School will always hold a special place in my heart and I will forever be grateful to all the opportunities and experiences it provided to me.

To the present DSKites, I offer these words of advice: Cherish your time here and make the most of every opportunity that comes your way. The memories and lessons you take with you will last a lifetime.
