The Inter-School Sports Meet – DSK Karandak is a flagship event that goes beyond showcasing athletic prowess; it is a celebration of perseverance, discipline, teamwork, and holistic development. Organized biennially by DSK School, the event encourages students to pursue excellence in sports while nurturing their physical health, mental resilience, and interpersonal relationships.
The much-anticipated 6th edition of DSK Karandak, held from 11th to 13th December 2024, witnessed the participation of 32 schools and over 650 players across four age categories—under 10, under 12, under 14, and under 16. Students competed in a diverse lineup of individual events such as athletics, skating, and taekwondo, alongside team games including langdi, kho-kho, throwball, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, relay race, and obstacle race. The enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship displayed by the participants were truly commendable.
The event commenced with an inspiring inaugural ceremony at the DSK School grounds. Chief Guests Mr. Milind Dhamdhere, a seasoned sports journalist, and Mr. Nandkumar Kakirde, Director of Cosmos Cooperative Bank, were welcomed with warmth and grandeur. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Ms. Ramaa Kale and Principal Ms. Jaishree Mulay. A vibrant march past led by grade IX
students, an oath-taking ceremony administered by student leaders, and the ceremonial lamp-lighting set an uplifting tone for the meet. Cultural performances, including a dynamic dance presentation and captivating displays of physical education drills, left spectators spellbound and infused the event with infectious energy.
The closing ceremony saw medals, trophies, and participation certificates being awarded by Ms. Ramaa Kale and Ms. Jaishree Mulay, celebrating the achievements of every participant. DSK Karandak 2024 was more than just a sports competition— it was a platform where students learned the value of perseverance, leadership, teamwork, and healthy competition. The event stands as a proud milestone in DSK School’s journey of empowering young minds to strive for greatness, both on and off the field.
