In a vibrant celebration of World Radio Day, DSK School proudly presented their much-anticipated radio show, DSK Air-O-Band, themed around “Mental Wellbeing. ” This event is one of many delightful activities that the school organizes, providing students with a platform to express their ideas in diverse and creative ways.
The theme was thoughtfully chosen to raise awareness among children about the importance of mental health. The show began with the upbeat tunes of DSK School’s jingle as RJ Vallari and RJ Sourish welcomed listeners and the esteemed Guest of Honour, Ms. Amola Joshi. With over a decade of experience, Ms. Joshi is a dedicated fitness instructor committed to guiding individuals toward healthier and stronger lives.
Following the theme announcement, students from grades VII, VIII, and IX captivated the audience with a Marathi skit, emphasizing the significance of seeking help during times of mental stress. The show seamlessly transitioned to catchy, self-composed advertisement jingles promoting the DSK School Sports Club, and a compelling story narration underscored the importance of maintaining a positive attitude.
Adding a delightful touch of humor, the ‘Shero-Shayari’ segment offered listeners a much-needed dose of laughter, an effective remedy for stress and depression. Grade IX students showcased their talent with a special rap performance, incorporating the ‘Beat Boxing technique’ to encourage active participation for a healthy mind. A heartfelt poem shared invaluable tips on overcoming stress, anxiety, and depression.
Amola Joshi further enriched the program by discussing the critical importance of mental health. She urged students to focus on a balanced routine that includes Yoga and Meditation, while also advising them to limit screen time and avoid excessive use of social media.
The show concluded on a high note with a lively and melodious song performed by students from grades V and VI, wrapping up with a promise to return for another exciting season. This year’s DSK Air-O-Band was not just a celebration but an inspiring journey into understanding and nurturing mental wellbeing.
